Crane hook is one of the most common types of lifting mechanism, which is used for lifting and moving loads in combination with a crane-type lifting device. It finds its application in many types of lifting machines and mechanisms with manual and machine drive. Crane hooks are classified according to the highest load capacity and are characterized by high strength and reliability, thanks to which they are used with great success in a wide variety of industries.

ONE-HORNED CRANE HOOKS

They are used to equip lifting machines and mechanisms. They are manufactured by hot stamping (GS) and free forging (SC) in accordance with GOST 6627-74. It is possible to supply hooks, both in the form of blanks and with pre-machining. Hook type A differs from hook type B in size L.

TWO-HORNED CRANE HOOKS

CRANE PLATE HOOKS

The plate hook is a load-grabbing body used in lifting machines and mechanisms, made of individual elements (plates) cut from sheet steel. The connection of the crane hook plates is carried out by rivets. For a more uniform loading of plates, inserts made of mild steel are fixed in the mouth of the cargo hook. Plate hooks are more reliable in operation than forged ones, since simultaneous destruction of all plates is practically excluded, while they are simpler to manufacture.

Plate hooks are manufactured according to GOST 6619-75 of the following types:

1. Single-horned hooks with a lifting capacity of 40-315 tons.
2. Two-horned hooks with a lifting capacity of 80-320 tons.

SINGLE-HORNED PLATE HOOKS

One-horned hooks are used in the foundry and are used in conjunction with a traverse. Two-horned plate hooks are used on general-purpose cranes, large-diameter slings on two horns are much easier to place.

TWO-HORNED PLATE HOOKS

Two-horned plate hooks designed for general purpose cranes are manufactured with a lifting capacity from 80 to 320 tons. Plate hooks are easier to manufacture forged and more reliable, since the destruction of the plates does not occur simultaneously, but they are heavier than forged ones. To increase the service life, the throat of plate hooks is protected by special plates made of "soft" steel, which can be changed as they wear out. Two-horned plate hooks are manufactured in numbers from 1 to 7, they have a height from 1170 to 2330 mm and a weight of 1060 and 5600 kg, respectively.

Norms of production of crane hooks:

1. The crane hook should be withdrawn from use if cracks and hairlines are found on any part of it. The hook is also rejected in case of wear in the throat exceeding 10% of the original height of the section, as well as in case of damage to the thread on its tail part. Residual bending deformation in dangerous sections of the curved part of the hook and in places where it passes to the neck is unacceptable.

2. All parts of the hook attachment, in which cracks are detected by inspection or physical inspection methods, must be replaced. The axis (finger) of the traverse must be replaced if more than 3% of the nominal diameter is worn.

HOOK CRANE SUSPENSIONS

One of the main elements of the crane is a hook suspension, which serves to hang cargo on the crane's cargo rope. Crane suspension or hook suspension (hook cage) consists of movable bypass blocks and a cargo hook, interconnected by a traverse and cheeks.

Hook suspensions are distinguished by load capacity (depending on the mode of operation of the lifting mechanism), the number and location of blocks. Hooks designed for a load of more than 3 tons are mounted on thrust ball bearings that provide easy rotation of the hook at lower loads, hooks can be mounted on spherical sliding supports.
LLC "Techprommetsnab" supplies crane suspensions (hook suspensions), hook clips with a lifting capacity from 3.2 to 50 tons.
